Burly Shaker 36
36-inch single bowl apron-front · Premium fine fireclay
Our largest single-bowl apron-front fireclay sink. Sized for kitchens that cook, the Shaker 36 carries a deep, generous bowl with a softly chamfered apron.
The Shaker 36 is our largest single-bowl apron-front sink, built for kitchens that actually cook. Thirty-six inches of uninterrupted basin means a full-size roasting tray, an oven rack, and the stockpot can all soak at once. Households that entertain, families that batch-cook, and anyone who has ever tried to wash a paella pan in a double-bowl sink will understand immediately why this format exists.
The bowl is cast with a solid 12 mm fireclay wall, noticeably thicker than the industry norm, which adds thermal mass (water stays hot longer while you work) and structural calm: the sink absorbs the daily knock of cast iron without complaint. The apron is reversible, one face flat, one softly fluted, so the installer can turn the sink to suit the kitchen's language before it is fixed in place.
Fired past 1,250°C at our own plant, the Shaker 36 comes in Matte Bone, Gloss Alabaster, and Stone Grey. The glaze is non-porous and hand-sprayed; it will not absorb coffee, wine, or turmeric, and it wipes back to bright with nothing stronger than warm water.

Installation & cabinet fit
Plan for the weight before delivery day: the Shaker 36 is 58 kg empty. Two people should carry it, and the support framing inside the cabinet needs to be genuinely level, 2×4 cleats on both side walls, shimmed until the rim reads dead level in both directions on a spirit level. The reversible apron means you choose the fluted or flat face at dry-fit; check the reveal against your counter plan before any silicone is applied.
The center-rear drain keeps plumbing pushed back, preserving usable cabinet storage below. Standard 3.5-inch drains and disposers fit. As with all fireclay, have the fabricator template from the physical sink.
Cabinet fit: Minimum base cabinet: 39 inches. The sink is 36" L × 19" W × 10" deep. Confirm your cabinet run can give up 39 inches before ordering, there is no workaround.
Care & maintenance
The routine is unchanged at any size: warm-water rinse daily, a pH-neutral cream cleaner weekly, and a towel-dry in hard-water areas. Because the bowl is large, a stainless bottom grid is a worthwhile accessory; it keeps heavy cookware off the glaze and lets water circulate underneath. Avoid abrasive pads, they won't destroy the glaze, but they will dull its sheen over years.
Shaker 36 FAQs
How heavy is the Shaker 36 and can my cabinet take it?
58 kg empty, and over 110 kg with water and cookware. Any sound 39-inch base cabinet can carry it, provided the load runs through properly fitted side-wall support cleats, not the countertop.
What is the reversible apron?
The sink is cast with two finished apron faces, one flat, one fluted. At installation you simply face the profile you prefer outward. It is one sink, two looks.
Is a 36-inch single bowl better than a 33-inch double?
It depends how you work. One large basin handles oversized cookware that a divided sink physically cannot. If you want simultaneous wash and rinse zones, look at our Mason 33 Double instead.
Which finish hides water spots best?
Matte Bone and Stone Grey are the most forgiving in hard-water areas. Gloss Alabaster shows spotting sooner but wipes brighter, a tea-towel dry after use keeps any finish spotless.
Warranty
10-year limited residential warranty on body and glaze. The Shaker 36 is cUPC-certified under IAPMO B45 and manufactured under ISO 9001 quality systems.
