BURLY

Burly Plinth Bath Rect

Architectural rectangular basin · Premium fine fireclay

A precise rectangular fireclay basin for architecturally-minded bathrooms. Sharp edges, soft interior radii.

The Plinth Bath Rect is our architectural basin: a precise rectangle with sharp external edges, soft internal radii, and a 1.2 mm crisp glaze edge that reads like a drawn line. It is designed for bathrooms conceived in plan, hotel suites, minimalist residences, powder rooms where the basin is the room's one object, and it is the model our hospitality clients specify most.

Unlike the Vessel Oval, the Plinth offers two installation postures: sitting proud as a vessel, or counter-recessed so only its upper body rises above the vanity, a detail that makes a 6-inch-deep basin feel built-in. The overflow is concealed within the rear wall, so the interior stays uninterrupted while family-bathroom safety is preserved.

Fired past 1,250°C like every Burly, the Plinth ships in Gloss Alabaster, Matte Bone, Stone Grey, and Fired Charcoal. For multi-room hospitality projects we hold glaze batches to project-level consistency and supply compliance documentation, cUPC (B45), ISO 9001, on request.

Installation & cabinet fit

As a vessel, the Plinth installs like any countertop basin: silicone ring, rear drain, tall or wall-mounted tap. Counter-recessed installation drops the body through a template-cut opening so the basin rises roughly 3 inches above the deck; the template is included, and the load sits on the basin's flange, no sub-frame needed at 17 kg. The rear drain position pushes the trap against the wall, freeing vanity drawer space, worth telling your joiner before the vanity is built.

The concealed overflow connects through a standard slotted 1.25-inch basin waste; use a slotted waste, or the overflow channel is decorative.

Cabinet fit: Vessel or counter-recessed on any vanity 18 inches deep or more. The basin is 24" L × 14" W × 6" deep with a rear drain and concealed overflow.

Care & maintenance

The crisp glaze edge is the Plinth's signature and its one care note: don't chip it with heavy glass bottles, a small tray for cosmetics is the elegant fix. Otherwise it is fireclay: non-porous, UV-stable, indifferent to cosmetics and cleaning chemistry. Housekeeping teams can use standard neutral bathroom cleaners; abrasive powders dull the sharp edge's light-catching line over time.

Plinth Bath Rect FAQs

What does counter-recessed installation look like?

The basin drops through a template-cut opening so roughly half its height sits below the counter, reading as semi-built-in. The included template makes the cut-out exact; the flange carries the load.

Does it have an overflow?

Yes, concealed in the rear wall, so the interior stays clean-lined. Pair it with a slotted 1.25-inch basin waste to make the overflow functional.

Is the Plinth suitable for hotel projects?

It is designed for them: batch-consistent glazes, cUPC (B45) and ISO 9001 documentation, and a rear-drain layout that simplifies repeated room plumbing. Volume and OEM enquiries are welcome.

Which finish suits a dark-stone vanity?

Gloss Alabaster for contrast, or Fired Charcoal for a tonal, monolithic effect. Stone Grey sits between, and is the most photographed choice in our hospitality portfolio.

Warranty

10-year limited warranty, residential and hospitality, on body, glaze, and concealed overflow channel.
